United Way and Hands on Central Texas Criminal Background Checks

The Criminal Background Check Program is presented in partnership with the Texas Department of Public Safety.

As we all know, we live and work in vulnerable times. It is for these reasons Hands On Central Texas, a program of United Way Capital Area offers the Criminal Background Check (CBC) Program. We all know the importance of providing that extra measure of protection when working with our various program participants, particularly children, people with disabilities, and the elderly. The CBC program is open to all community and faith-based organizations, schools and government entities.

Criminal Background Check program details:
•First Year Membership is $100.00
•Renewal Membership is $60.00
•Cost per history check is $5.00
•Criminal background checks are for State of Texas records only.
•Criminal background checks include arrests and convictions.
•Covers adults as well as teenagers.
•Does not include civil or driving records.
•Membership includes CBC Trainings for an unlimited number of staff.

CBC Membership Requirements

•Attend Criminal Background Check Training - Covers policies & procedures, confidentiality issues, Texas Department of Public Safety, CBC acceptance policies and Q&A.
•Submit organization's CBC Policies & Procedures
•Submit Department of Public Safety Criminal History User Entity Agreement
•Submit Department of Public Safety Authorized User Acknowledgement Agreement.
•Submit Hands On Central Texas Partnership Agreement.
